How can I be expected to spout out something witty with a build up like that? It's like when your mother introduces you to her friends and says, "He is just a riot. Go on sweetie, say something funny." And all you can think about is how much fun it would be to melt into the carpet at that point.
You might also be thinking, "I- is my mother's friend, wearing pantyhose? Oh god, is she dangling her shoe? Please, oh please! Stop that!" Next thing you know, an amusing anecdote has become porn.
