RE: SEEKING NEW OWNER OF FUTANARIPALACE - SwordMasterLink - 8th May 2024

I am considering stepping up, having years of experience with system's administration.

Trouble being the contents here. My home country, germany, it's particularly troublesome regarding the age of pornography. Such that any art, fiction or story with someone not yet at the age of legalese adulthood incurs a minimum jailtime of one year (yeah and within the second they turn 18 it's suddenly all fair game and nude beaches also, lol).

Right. My thoughts too. Just a simple webpage hosting service comes at like 5 EUR/USD a month, probably sufficient to run the futanari palace (I assume just PHP, MySQL, Email are being required for this Forum, as is usual for a MyBB installation). Additionally some 10-20 EUR/USD for the domain per year.

Update: No to ownership. 'though I am writing with Echoen and swammy about providing technical assistance.

I'm not a software savy person, so all I can do is monthly donate. Hope a solution presents itselft.

Is significant technical experience/knowledge required in the immediate running of the site or are there problems frequently arising requiring troubleshooting?

If you chose to step up, there would be nothing preventing you from purging the content you would be concerned with.

We had already taken steps to purge that content during the migration from the old site to myBB - to my knowledge, everything that could have put this site at risk was removed during the migration. When you become owner, you will be free to take further action to remove and prohibit such content as you see fit.

You will also be free to migrate over to cheaper alternatives. It was difficult enough for us to do the one partially successful migration, and we lost the technical knowledge needed to do anything further. Hence the site lingering with only partial functionality since then. If you can run this site cheaper and better, then you may be the best possible future for this historic community.

ADDITIONALLY, several people have offered one-time donations to keep the site going. This may be an opportunity to do a fundraising drive for the hand-off so that you can implement upgrades, new features, or just bank it to pay for future costs.

I would say, at least for me, supporting however I can does feel rather more comfortable than owning/managing a community, so I'm pretty down for that much.

After review of the potential legal risks, I am sorry to say No.

There's draconian punishment for even the association with any of the aforementioned matters here in Germany, particularly with further extensions to the law in the past few years.

However, with years of experience with SQL, PHP and webpage development I am offering my technical help both in migrating to a new -- probably cheaper -- webhosting provider as well as a few hours a week in continuing work as a professional computer scientist.

It's been a lot of good years with futanari stories. Thank you all for that.

RE: SEEKING NEW OWNER OF FUTANARIPALACE - swammy - 11th May 2024

Hello to everyone here.

I've been a member for... hrmmm... Years now? I've been primarily at other places this last decade but came back on a lark to find the note just a couple days before deadline.

I am talking to Echoen already and if no one wishes I can at least placehold while we find another to take over. I'm retired now and in a unique place in my life where I am financially stable enough to take on the burden while at the same time living in a place where it is not nearly as draconian for this location. As such I can take over and assist with everything moving forward.

That said? I do not have the HTML/SQL/PHP and other knowledge and would need assistance in gaining the knowledge. It has been a decade since I last hosted and built a website and as such I am a bit out of date. So, if some of the community can help I would love to be there for the community.

I've only been a lurker before but that is in large part because I was prior going through my own issues and was married to a rather .... interesting... person who would NOT have approved of this site. Being single and retired and living in a location that is decent really helps out with everything.

As such? I would like to see and have help making sure that this site with all its history doesn't go the way of other sites I have enjoyed over the years go.

Thanks to all of you for being here in the meantime.

I feel you. Used to live there but left due to the regulations and bureaucracy becoming stifling for all aspects of life...

You have my thanks, sir. Sadly I am not software savy, as I'm just an electrician, but I can help via donations to a certain extent. Hope it works out. Thanks for stepping up.
