Contest Guidelines (updated 6/17/2022)
Contest Guidelines
- No word limit, but short fiction is recommended. If you submit a novel, don’t expect a user to read it. If an entrant submits a novel you, as a reader and voter, are under no obligation to read it.
- No content or genre restrictions, but herm or trans fiction is preferred. Fan-fiction is allowed.
- No typeface or font size requirements. No other format requirements or restrictions, either. Wrapping your entry in spoiler code is recommended though. Any additional info you want to provide a reader with is also allowed, and you may provide it in any way you see fit.
- Submissions are to be posted in this submission thread. They are not to be posted in the interest check thread, outside the submission thread, or PM’d to me.
- Content tags are recommended. You’ll want voters to know what they’re going to be reading.
- Submissions published before the creation of the interest check thread or the submission thread are forbidden. Your work must be original and written specifically for the contest. If you submit an entry, then post it outside the contest thread or on another site, you’ll be disqualified. You may post your entry elsewhere after the read and vote phase has concluded.
- 06/18/2022 is the last day for submissions. You may only submit one entry. Victory will be determined by community vote. The names of all entrants will be known. The poll will be closed on 07/18/2022. The deadline for entries and voting can be shortened or extended if desired. But, please, try not to procrastinate or forget and do realize you aren’t under any obligation to submit an entry.
This thread will serve as an archive for entries and a reference for voters. Commentary for entries will not be allowed in this thread. Entry declaration and contest related discussion (which includes story commentary) should be limited to the Unofficial Writing Contest Interest Check thread. Thank you. If you have any questions or concerns, please visit the hyperlinked thread and post a comment.
