Jennifer winces as she holds her throbbing head, sitting up from her prone position. She can't remember much, something about finding some ancient buried ruins during one of her deep cave explorations she loved to do. Touching one of the relics that she'd found. A brilliant flash of light. Then... nothing. Only to wake up... Here? But where is here? She stugggles to open her eyes, having to shield them from the bright sun above her. She definitely isn't in Kansas anymore. She lay in a vast field of grass almost as far as the eye could see, the beauty and serenity peaceful and calming. To the south she can see small outlines of what appears to be civilization. That will be where she starts.
It only took a few hours to finally make it to the place she noticed in the distance when she had awoke: a small farm on the outskirts of what appeared to be a bustling town just another fifteen minute walk. But this farm is definitely strange. There's only one kind of livestock and it's a strange one. They appear to be cows but are very human-like in nature. Standing in awe, Jennifer watches the human-ish cows graze and just wander complacently in their pen. She stands there for a few minutes before freezing as she hears a very familiar clicking noise: the sound of a rifle cocking and being aimed at her.
"Hol' up right thar, missy." a gruff voice says from behind her before cold steel is pressed firmly on the back of her head. "Now, I ain't seen ya here in these parts before. Ya certainly ain't one of the city folk as I know 'em all. Who are ya? And, more importantly, what are ya doing near ma cattle?"
Jennifer can only gulp as she stammers out her answer. "I... I'm sorry. I have no idea where I am. My name is Jen. I was exploring some ruins and woke up about 3 hours walk in that direction. I assure you, I had no ill intents. I had just never seen such... bovines before." She pleads, hoping the man would listen to what she had to say. She suddenly feels the rifle being removed from her skull before a large, strong hand grabbing her shoulder and spinning her around with ease. A tough looking man stand before her, standing an easy 6'7" and built like a lineman. He was wearing no shirt, showing off his muscles. But, while he was wearing pants, they seemed to struggle with the package making a giant bulge in them. Just how hung is he? He crassly grabs her chin, turning her head this way and that as he inspects her with a suspicious expression written on his face, the rifle resting on his shoulder.
After a few moments of examination, his expression warms up and a soft and welcoming smile crosses his face. "Well, Ah'll be. A human. Rare find indeed her on Merra. Or at least in these parts. And ya seem like an honest woman. I've hear far more strange stories than that in my day. Name's Barry. This here be my farm. It's a dairy farm. Come in. Be my guest. Don't get many humans around so I will show ya 'round." He says in a happy tune as he walks towards the farm house on the other side of the pen. Not wanting to be rude, or shot for that matter, Jen follows without question, her eyes glancing over at the naked cow women every now and then before sight of them is lost by the door closing behind her. She is quickly escorted to the dinning room and a cold glass of milk placed in front of her. "Well, Miss Jen. I'm sure ya have many questions."
"What are those?" She asks, nodding towards the door, signifying she was talking about the strange bovines outside.
"Ah. Them be my livelihood: the Sora. They're a cow like race found here on Merra. Make a lotta milk and very docile... usually."
"Are they all female?"
"For the most part. The Sora tend ta be an all female race with a strange exception on very rare occasion. But, I guess you could say they're all female."
They continued to speak for hours, Jennifer asking questions to understand this strange place more and Barry answering them, though many of his answers merely left more questions, as if only answered partially and always leaving something out to leave an air of mystery. Such as how there were many people out there... but humans were rare. As the night drew on Barry stopped her before she could ask another question, pointing to a clock reading 11. "Sorry ta stop ya
