After much debate the general consensus has been that this is not a good idea, I am leaving the original post up here as a record so that later readers will understand what was said and why

So most of the stories in this forum are not tagged, I have been slowly going through reading them if I can and tagging them. This is important for several reasons: 1) it provides necessary information to the reader about what is in the story without ruining the thread title, 2) it allows the story to be searched by content, 3) it provides disclaimers for such things as loli, shota, scat, and guro, all of which may be major turn offs to some people. The tagging mechanism is built into FP's vBulletin® Content Management System (CMS) and is easy to use. I want to be clear that this is a well meant suggestion only not a requirement!

Using the Tagging System:

The tagging system on FP allows stories to be more easily searched by the tags used to tag a thread. You can find the tagging system at the bottom of the thread just above the quick reply box. If you click edit it will bring up the tagging interface. If you start typing a tag it will try to auto-suggest from the existing pool of tags.

Authors:

To tag a story you are posting simply enter the content tags in the 'Tags' field when you submit the thread, many if not all of my recommended tags are there, please include in your tags: Your name, and the story title. Loli, shota, scat and guro warning should ALWAYS be included if present!!! You can append tags to the thread later as well, to do so simply scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see a bar that says 'Tags' click the 'edit' link and it will change to allow you to add more tags, again the auto-suggest system will be useful.

Readers:

Sometimes our authors are imperfect and forget to tag their stories, as diligent readers we should be courteous to our fellow readers and tag the story. To add a tag simply scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see a bar that says 'Tags' click the 'edit' link and it will change to allow you to add tags, tags added by other users will be greyed out meaning that you cannot remove them (a moderator can though), the auto-suggest system will be very useful.
