This is the opening back story of a series of stories I hope to be able to finsih and contribute here. In this opening there isn't any action, but it sets up the back story for everything else, enjoy!

Earth, but it is not like the Earth that you know as it is now.

As the end of THE World War was coming to an conclusion their was an massive global seismic attack and the land masses that were once forced apart billions of years ago, were brought back together forcefully from the fall-out. The continents known as South America and Africa were practically one land mass, with the exception of a small fissure that made up the southern rivers of the South Amer-ican land mass. Central America, Cuba, and Iceland were subsequently lost when the lands joined, leaving a considerable gap between North and South America. Hawaii, New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, along with the French Polynesian Islands was believed to be lost in the ensuing explosions. Japan and Greenland were crammed together with the rest of the northern continents and the resulting mass is now called North Eurosian.

When the announcement of the seismic detonation devices created by the militaries of the world reached the public masses many knew that the end of the war was coming and those who could fled the planet. They fled to the various space stations that orbited the Earth and from there most made their way to the newly-developed colonies on Mars. Those unfortunate enough and too poor to escape were stuck on the planet when the seismic attacks rocked the planet and destroyed the fragile tectonic plates, causing the land masses to break apart and then mash together. Much of the buildings on the coasts were instantly obliterated with the initial attacks and the rest of the major structures were destroyed when the lands began moving together. There was a small percentage of the population on the surface that was able to take refuge in underground colonies and survive while the planet reformed it's shape. These underground colonies varied in size from city sized to sometimes an entire state-sized.

Living underground had proved problematic from the very beginning and the people immediately began feeling the effects. While the planet continued reshaping itself many of the colonies collapsed in on themselves, trapping and most times killing all the inhabitants. Supplies were limited and very few plants could be grown by artificial lights, making new food supplies scarce. Animals didn't survive very long due to people hunting them for food, a food shortage as well, and low birth rates due to no nourishing sun light. Humans were also plagued by low birth rates and an ever-increasing shortage of food. It was soon discovered that if the human race s
